Eno River Reading Group

4th Wednesday of each month
Our next meeting ~ Wednesday, July 23, 2008
12:30 pm

Downstairs at The Regulator Bookshop,
720 Ninth Street, Durham, 27705

This year during Earth Week we launched an Eno River Reading Group. Each month we select an essay or other short reading to discuss in our next meeting over lunch. We will be pulling the readings from a recently published anthology: American Earth: Environmental Writing Since Thoreau, edited by Bill McKibben. The readings will cover a range of subjects, but will all have an environmental theme. Join us for a bring-your-own brown bag lunch discussion each 4th Wednesday of the month, downstairs at the Regulator.

July's Reading: "The Ecology of Magic" by David Abram. This is an excerpt from his book, The Spell of the Sensuous.

American Earth is available at the The Regulator Bookshop, as well as other bookstores. The Durham County Public Library also has several copies. . An excerpt is available online at http://www.primitivism.com/ecology-magic.htm. If you are unable to obtain a copy of the reading, please contact us at association@enoriver.org.
